If you're academically qualified but don't yet meet our English language requirement, our English Language Transition Programs can help. Offered on all three campuses and ranging from six weeks to eight months, these programs build your English skills and prepare you for university studies

Pathways to satisfy our English language requirement

From academic English courses to foundation-year programs, there are multiple ways to strengthen your language skills and meet our English language requirement. Each pathway is designed to support your success in a university setting.

A

ACE@UTM is an English language transition program for students admitted to UTM who require additional English language support in order to meet the University's English language requirement. ACE@UTM is offered twice per year, during the Summer (early July to end of August) and the Fall-Winter (early September to end of April).

Exterior

Develop your language as a tool for success in your academic studies at the School of Continuing Studies. Getting a B grade in the highest level (Level 60) will satisfy the English language requirement for all undergraduate programs at the 草榴2024新地扯一二. Students still need to apply to undergraduate studies and meet academic requirements. 

Two

Academic English is an 8-week English language course at 草榴2024新地扯一二 Scarborough and taught by the Centre for Teaching and Learning. The program supports students in developing necessary skills for academic reading, writing, listening and speaking, while providing an introduction to academic culture, communication and study skills.

Students

Green Path - China is an innovative admissions program for incoming undergraduate 草榴2024新地扯一二 Scarborough students from the People's Republic of China. It immerses them in an advanced Canadian-style learning environment and leads to a degree from the university. After successful completion of the program, students begin their first year of undergraduate studies. 

Toronto

The International Foundation Program (IFP) combines conditional acceptance to 草榴2024新地扯一二 with intensive English language and academic skills development instruction, including for-credit courses. IFP is available to academically qualified international students whose English fluency scores do not meet the university's direct entrance requirements.
