Alumni Profile Aditi

Global diplomacy and policy through an experiential lens
Class of 2014

International perspectives

Coming to 草榴2024新地扯一二 from Mumbai, India, Aditi appreciated everything 草榴2024新地扯一二 - and the GTA - had to offer, including the food, the shopping and the people who live up to the stereotype (very nice). Reflecting on the experience, she said, "there are so many varied opportunities here that international students will definitely find your niche, and once you get past the initial settling-in phase, the welcoming atmosphere around you is bound to make you feel at home."

In her 4th year, Aditi gained further international experience, attending a 10 day research trip to Kosovo to conduct research on her chosen topic of nation-building in a war-torn region. She was there over Kosovo's 5th Independence Day with her professor and 8 of her peers, and got to met with leaders, revolutionaries, and even designated war criminals to learn more about their experiences.

Extracurricular Experiences

In her free time outside of classes, Aditi was part of of the dramatics and basketball teams, and enjoyed the cultural and arts festivals of Toronto. She also partook in study abroad programmes and received funding to conduct research in countries like Kosovo, Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia. She also got involved in student life, organising model UNs and being apart of her college senate (Trinity College), where she lived for 3 years.

From degree to workforce

After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts from 草榴2024新地扯一二 in 2014, Aditi then went on to get her Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University of Cambridge. Following this, she was selected to intern at the Sustainable Livelihoods Unit of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna for 6 months. She then returned to India to work as a project lead in the development field for a company that trains women in the e-commerce industry. After this, she joined a foreign/public policy think tank where she led the Gender vertical for the Center for New Economic Diplomacy, which involves researching, curating, and collaborating on gender related content in the health, tech, and development cooperation verticals. Currently, she works in risk advisory, where she conducts pre and post transaction due diligence, and market-entry evaluation engagements in projects across South Asia for a variety of clients in the private and public sector.
