Student Profile Tiffany

Studying the Body and the Mind

Small Classes

Many students come into university thinking their first year classes will be big lectures, and while that may be true for some introductory courses, there are many smaller sized courses available to students as well. Tiffany took one of these courses, a seminar course in her first year called 鈥淐SB169: Genes, Genomes, & Us,鈥 where students participated more readily and learned about more niche and upper year topics at a digestible level. Because the class was smaller, students were also able to meet friends easier and develop a relationship with the professor.

Prioritizing Mental Health

In her first year, Tiffany joined the 草榴2024新地扯一二 Mental Health Association (UofT MHA), hoping to meet new friends and cultivate a space on campus to promote mental health practices. Not only did she get to do this, but she eventually became the Events Planner, gaining leadership and outreach skills. She learned how to manage a team of people, who were helping to organize events for the club, and be a vocal leader for others.

Tour Guiding

Outside of the classroom, Tiffany is a campus tour guide, showing prospective students and their families around campus. Not only does Tiffany like that it鈥檚 made her a better communicator and public speaker, learning how to speak to students from all over the world and field a variety of questions, but she also enjoys the community it's given her, bonding with her fellow tour guides.
